Sawmill

Production technology

The company produces a wide range of sawn timber, surfaced on four sides (S4S), dried to 20% or less moisture content, sorted by size and quality and delivered in packaged bundles.

The New Forest Pro sawmill is equipped with two sawmill lines which able to saw logs with a diameter of up to 55 centimeters and a length of up to 6.3 meters. The mill also has two automatic sorting lines for green and dry sawn timber.

of input raw materials per year

The grade of sawn timber is determined by skilled workers on an automated sorting line. Each grade has restrictions for almost all existing wood defects: knots, cracks, scars, pitch pockets, wormholes, canker, wandering pith, blue stain, decay, or slope of grain. The quality of sawn timber processing is assessed by the non-parallelism of board faces and edges, surface roughness and the perpendicularity of the board end and face.

To increase the productivity of the sawmill line and sawn timber output, logs are sorted by length and diameter by an automatic log sorting line with 56 sorting pockets.

Cutting a batch of logs sorted by diameter does not require reconfiguration of the sawmill line and automatic sawn timber sorting lines, which ensures maximum productivity.

Waste disposal

There is an equipment for the removal of bark, wood chips, sawdust, scraps and other wood waste into the waste buffer storage. Since wood waste is subsequently used in various technological processes, it is separated into wood chips and sawdust during waste removal, while larger pieces are further grinded.

Storage

Storage warehouse is used for storing finished products according to customer specifications. Location numbering system is connected with the operative dispatching service for managing the technological process. Sawn timber bundles are transported to the loading site by forklift trucks, then by trucks to the port for export shipments.

Process Automation

At every step of sawn timber production, we use automated process control system developed by suppliers of woodworking equipment.
