We use the following raw materials to produce wood pellets:
The breakdown of used the raw materials by species:
Diameter | 6–8 mm |
Length | ≤ 40 mm |
Moisture | ≤ 10 % |
Bulk density | > 650 kg/m³ |
Net calorific value | > 16.5 mJ/kg |
Ash | ≤ 0.5 % |
Mechanical durability | ≥ 98 % |
The main quality indicators for solid biofuels are net calorific value, ash, bulk density, particle size distribution of disintegrated pellets, sizes (diameter, length) and mechanical durability. They provide consumer properties of solid biofuel. These characteristics are measured during the quality control and are recorded in the relevant certificates.
Today there are no standards for wood pellets in Russia. That is why most manufacturers use Western standards, which determine not only the requirements for pellets, but also for production, storage and transportation.
New Forest Pro wood pellets comply with A1, the highest grade according to EN Plus.
